Mobile App for Bait Reporting

Bocconi Avvelenati

The phenomenon of the spread of poisoned bait represents a risk for the animal population and constitutes a serious danger for the environment and for human beings, in particular for children. In this context is placed the Portale Nazionale degli Avvelenamenti Dolosi degli Animali born from an idea of the Italian Ministry of Health and created from the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale di Lazio e Toscana. The Portal is accompanied by the free App Bocconi Avvelenati. The app allows citizens to report in real time the discovery of potentially harmful suspicious material (poisoned bait) and to view the potential risk associated with a specific territory through the territorial distribution of cases on the interactive maps of the Portal.

The Portal and the App are the two innovative tools to allow the complete management of cases of suspected poisoning as well as the constant monitoring of the phenomenon and its temporal and territorial characteristics. The Portal and the App are coordinated by the National Reference Center for Forensic Veterinary Medicine and make use of the collaboration of the national network of Zooprophylactic Institutes.

The mobile app Bocconi Avvelenati is currently available both for Android and iOS devices.
