The Company

Signo Motus is a research-intensive Italian SME established in 1994 with Headquarters in Messina, (IT) and a Technical Unit in Pisa, (IT). The mission of the company is aimed at covering the gap, in "signo motus", between the most recent technologies and their industrial application, through R&D activities and integration of advanced technological solutions.

The core business is represented by research and development and industrial applications in: robotics, ICT and e-Health, smart materials and additive manufacturing. The R&D team has relevant experience in the development and management of European and National R&D projects related to both civilian and defence sectors. The developed technologies have indeed a dual-use purpose.

Signo Motus offers innovative technological services related to the core business areas. Moreover, the company has a software product portfolio composed by: Nutrimenta Veterinaria, AgeWell, Bocconi Avvelenati and Habilis.

Staff and Facilities

Signo Motus is made up by a group of people whose main strength lay on a multidisciplinary team of engineers with more than 30 years of experience in R&D and industrial applications related to the core business areas. The organizational chart and the main company facilities and equipment are reported below.

The Headquarters main facilities include:

  • Dedicated software and hardware resources (high-performance workstations) for 3D modelling, simulation and numerical analysis, including Autodesk® solutions as an Autodesk Developer Network (ADN) member and Ansys® tools for research and development activities;
  • control software development kits;
  • general purpose robotic simulation tools;
  • vendor specific robotic simulation and programming tools;
  • 3D printers, robotic 3D printing platforms and related software tools;
  • on-site server room (redundant file server; redundant firewall server; dedicated server for Virtual Machines);
  • laboratories for the development of electronic systems, the production and testing of mechanical prototypes, equipped with tools for the design, analysis and SW development of control systems;
  • electromechanical characterization instruments for smart materials (electro-rheological fluids);
  • electromechanical testing instruments for prototypes and devices.

The Technical Unit main facilities include:

  • workstations for SW design, development and testing;
